How to clean your Beko washer filter step by step

A practical, safe guide to cleaning the pump filter and preventing drain problems and smells.

Safety: unplug the appliance and close the water tap before any check, and never open the outer casing or electronic boards yourself.

Why the filter matters

The pump filter protects the drain pump from small objects like coins, buttons and hair clips. When it fills with lint, draining weakens and the washer starts showing drain errors or leaving water in the drum.

What you need

A low, flat tray, old towels and gloves. Many Beko washers have a small emergency drain hose next to the filter that makes emptying easier.

Steps

Unplug the washer and let hot water cool if a hot programme just ran. Open the lower front cover, pull out the drain hose if present and empty the water into the tray. Then turn the filter anticlockwise slowly, remove lint and objects and rinse it under running water. Wipe its housing, refit it and tighten it well.

After cleaning

Run a short drain & spin and watch the filter area for leaks. If draining stays weak, the issue may be the pump or hose.
